They want us to reduce our footprints to offset their own.

Anecdotal stuff aside, I'm inclined to agree. That said, I sometimes doubt whether the 1% really cares about offsetting their own or if they figure whatever god of capitalism that blessed them will just fix it all later...assuming they care about future generations at all, which goes against
the philosophy.

I may be giving them too much credit when I assume they care enough to
