What about this RPG? Any good? I own it, but am reluctant to play it
    without any input.

This is a perfect example of my last message. You are already reluctant to play it (expressing negativity), before even giving it a shot. You might need to be a little more open-minded when it comes to trying games you haven't played before. Or, just stop playing games you don't enjoy and continue doing what you /do/ enjoy. ;)

It's just that in the 90s I really enjoyed games. I guess now I'm more
    service oriented. Thanks.

The thing is; people enjoy games so much, I think I should too. I don't.
They look fun, but when I actuallly try them, they're not. I own about 275 games on Steam. I've played 5. Finished none. Only 1 more than 2 hours; Kakarot. And that, I got angry at because I played for 16 hours and was less than a 1/4 through the game... With that much of an investment, I'd figure
I'd finish it, but I wasn't even close... I like mechs and Anime. The 2
games I've played the most are Kakarot with 16 hours and Mech Warriors 5 Mercenaries with about 3 hours. That got too repetetive and I was spending more time managing resources than fighting mechs, which wasn't even slightly fun. If I could find a mech game that wasn't repetitive and didn't have resource managing (I absolutely despise that in games...) I'd probably play
it. An Anime game that doesn't have the same themes over and over again
would also be something good for me.

Is your time/date off on your system?

I wrote the message that you replied to at 7:41pm my time. This reply from you was stamped 2:37pm on the same day, and I'm fairly certain you're not that many hours behind me.

I only ask because I don't seem to be having this issue anywhere else, and it only seems to be messages from you.

Then you may want to think about directing your time and effort elsewhere. At least in things you do enjoy.

Dude.. 16 hours into a game and only being 1/4 the way through is a /GREAT/ investment. That means the game was well worth the money spent, and there is not many of those I can say the same about. Most games nowadays give you 5-10 hours of playing time, tops. Consider yourself lucky you found one you could spend so much time with!

I like mechs and Anime. The 2 games I've played the most are

Repetitive games usually lose my interest, too. So you're definitely not alone there, and I have never really had any interest in Anime/cartoonish style games, either.

I enjoy some jump-scare games, like the Resident Evil series (all of them were great), The Last of Us series is pretty good. Layers of Fear was oddly a decent, and cheap game. If you don't know about any of these, they are very story rich, with portions of the game where you have to do things or interact, or sometimes even kill zombies and monsters and stuff.

Otherwise I've played some FPS and 3PS games, but nowhere near as much as I used to. Call of Duty got old pretty quick. New releases every year that don't change much got boring fast. I've played The Division 2 (and the original) quite a bit. Maxed out a few gear sets and am leveled up pretty high on that. While it can be a little repetitive, they have seasons with different stuff and goals, and change the game up a decent amount on a weekly basis.

Just have to find something you actually enjoy playing, if there is such a thing.

    Nick

Here is the timestamp of the message I'm replying to, which I'm positive was written within the last hour. I'm guessing the timezone offset is +0000 because your stuff doesn't set it. Is this anywhere in the ballpark?

    Thu, 18 Dec 2025 14:51:00 +0000

This seems to translate to 8:51am my time. So, if you have a time machine you gotta let me try it out. ;)

I think I get it now. I'm an hour ahead of you, and you posted the message at 2:51pm your time. The +0000 is what was throwing it all off. Looks better in Golded, as I'm guessing if you don't supply a timezone kludge, it doesn't do the conversion from UTC. The newsreader I was using seems to always do the conversion, so it seemed like you were a time traveller. ;)

Yeah, I've got 2 new mini PCs and a HP ELiteDesk SFF i5 I just moved the BBS to. I'll be putting game servers on one of the mini PCs and the other is running my media servers. I'll put the apache server on it as well. The game server will be running twgs, sqgs, mbbsemu and sbbs for .js arcade games. That'll give me something to do for a couple of days...

The thing is; people enjoy games so much, I think I should too. I don't.

    That is the wrong take.

There are lots of things people enjoys that I do not, therefore I let other people do it and then I do the things I enjoy myself.
