Want to see the first teaser for Avengers: Doomsday before anyone else? You might have to book a ticket for Avatar: Fire and Ash to do so.

According to industry insider DanielRPK (thanks to the AvengersUpdated X/Twitter account for the find), Disney plans on giving Marvel fans their first look at the highly-anticipated comic book movie before the end of 2025. Indeed, the prominent leaker, who has a somewhat reliable track record, particularly when it comes to trailer releases, has suggested Avengers 5 's first trailer will play ahead of public screenings of the next Avatar movie. For those wondering, the latter film is due out on December 19. The first

At first glance, this seems like a good move. Avatar: Fire and Ash is
expected to be one of the biggest new movies of the year, so millions of people will be seated for it. Disney is the owner and worldwide distributor
of the Avatar and Marvel Cinematic Universe ( MCU ) franchises, too, so it makes sense that it would run one of 2026's most anticipated new films ahead of what could be its biggest money-maker of 2025.

There's part of me, though, that doesn't think we'll get a proper trailer for Avengers: Doomsday in the next two months and there are three big reasons why. Comment from r/MarvelStudiosSpoilers

The first and perhaps most obvious is that the Marvel Phase 6 film won't be out for another 12 months. Avengers: Doomsday won't hit theaters until December 17, 2026 and, with principal photography only recently wrapping on the project, it's simply too early for an actual trailer to be cobbled together.

OK, the cameras started rolling on Doomsday in May, so some fans might argue that seven months is enough time to show off something in the near future. However, considering how long it would take to include top-of-the-range
visual effects (VFX) on top of everything else editing the trailer so it flows well, adding in music/sound effects, etc I don't believe an official teaser could be ready to show in the weeks ahead. Furthermore, debuting a trailer for the next Avengers movie ahead of an
albeit eagerly awaited film like Avatar 3 just doesn't feel right.

Projects starring Earth's Mightiest Heroes have been labeled 'event movies' films deemed big enough to be cultural touchstones since the MCU's first live-action team-up occurred in 2012. It would make more sense, then, to give Doomsday 's first trailer its world premiere at, say, a major comic book convention like San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC).

Marvel has regularly held panels at the aforementioned event, which is the most popular fan event of its kind. To me, SDCC 2026, which will take place next July, feels like a more appropriate place to unveil Doomsday 's first trailer, especially as the movie will only be six months away at that point.

Even if I'm wrong and Disney runs a first-look teaser for Doomsday ahead of Avatar 3 screenings, I simply don't believe it'll be the major event we
expect it to be.

Remember, when Disney released the first trailer for Avengers: Endgame (see above) in December 2018, it primarily comprised recycled clips from previous MCU movies. Yes, snippets of the Marvel Infinity Saga capper were
interspersed among those clips, but it wasn't until the 1:10 mark that
footage from Endgame was placed front and center for the rest of the
trailer's runtime.

If and it's a big if a Doomsday teaser is shown before public viewings of Avatar: Fire and Ash , I wouldn't be surprised if a similar approach will be taken. Comment from r/MarvelStudiosSpoilers

Indeed, I'd expect Doomsday 's first look to incorporate plenty of clips from films and Disney+ shows that are part of the Marvel Multiverse Saga, before showing us some slices of footage from Doomsday itself. The video material in said promo could be accompanied by a voice-over from Robert Downey Jr's
Doctor Doom, too, before ending with a full albeit brief look silhouette or otherwise of Downey Jr's Doom wearing his iconic costume from the comics .

For what it's worth, I've reached out to Disney for an official comment on DanielRPK's claim. At the time of publication, I'm yet to receive a response but, if one is provided, I'll update this article.

Unless Disney confirms a teaser will debut before 2025 is over, I stubbornly refuse to believe we'll see anything Doomsday -related until next year.
