I know, but for me country music isn't as sad and depressing at it used to be. I used to hate it for that reason, and I also hated it because I thought hillbillies were aholes, but now my attitude has completely changed.

I'm not sure about that, but I get a kick out of telling people this: "I'm into Christian music, not the *other* kind of music." (Technically it's not virtue signaling because I'm just joking when I say it.)

I went through my music a while back and cleared out all the "depressing" songs. I really don't care to listen to them.

I still have all my old records, but I can't listen to them anymore. The musicians who talked trash about Trump ruined most music for me. I have mental sticky-notes on all their albums (e.g. "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath = human trafficking."

And when I hear songs that used to make me sad (e.g. "Should've been a cowboy") have the opposite effect now.

Same here. I went to school with hillbillies who bullied me, further making me dislike country music, but now the way I associate music with things has completely turned around. (And I have annoying hillbilly relatives too.)
