    Slightly faster but nothing to write /home to the mothership about.

    Yeah, the thumb drive variety are handy but are slow at the best of times.

    Mine re all quite old now. Maybe I should invest in some new ones.

    BTW, I read that someone has stood up to maintain the LFS SysV book. If it works out as planned there may be a light at the end of that tunnel.

    The 2 I posted about I bought the same day and were dirt cheap compared to the first one I ever owned witch was back in 1999-ish. I had to order it from a Canadian techie firm which was located in N. Carolina. I forget the name of that company but the usb flash drive was a M-Systems 8M jobber if I am not mistaken. I also have a 2.5" 44-pin SSD (1G) that still works ... or it did the last time I chacked. I lack a 44-pin controller at the moment.
