You do you, but I want the forum with the well wishes, not the
political rants.

If that makes me naive / sheltered / whatever pejorative you want
to use, fine, but those political areas _suck_, and I don't go
there because they _suck_. And I get a bit fired up about it here, because, when this place is filled with well wishes, personal
stories, and hobby talk, it's delightful.

And that's the forum I want to participate in.

The political part didn't start with someone wishing someone else a
Happy Pride Month. The "political-adjacent" part got kicked off good
and well after that.

I do find it ironic (or not!) that, despite me not mentioning any
names, you somehow knew you were one of the ones that made the
conversation "political-adjacent" and then turned around and hit
everyone with "this is political" to get out of it.

Otherwise, why would my pointing that out bother you?

I certainly do. What I didn't agree with was when people started
throwing around "privilege" and other buzzwords... you know,
political concepts.

I did not find it at all ironic that after someone from the LGB
community posted and asked for said buzzwording to stop, no one who
was using those words responded or even seemed to pay attention to
him.

It was one of us allegedly "hateful" people that replied and
congratulated him for his 40+ year relationship. Go figure.
